To paint a room or not to paint a room that is the question …lol
1st on the list
Prep work
Rub down all walls and woodwork depending on how bad wall are you can start around 80grt for extremely rough area 40/60grt then we clean up areas I.e.. dust
Once area clean prepare filler for cracks and holes to avoid waste you can mix the filler in smaller amounts to avoid waste depending upon drying time of product there is also a deep hole filler which sometimes comes as a 2 part mixture
Yep you got it right more rubbing if you have a palm sander it may be useful if you have a lot of filling but a useful bit of kit to keep in your home D.I.Y kit
Stage 2 prep
At this point I would like to give the room a base coat (white matt paint) after sanding and filling this often shows up imperfections that may have been missed during 1st sand and fill
please not if you find any stains this would be a good time to to get them covered with the proper stain cover paint
undercoat the woodwork with wood primer if your not stripping and and treating with stain in prep for varnish
now that the room has been prepped its time for final checks walls and woodwork
Then you can bring in the colours of choice please note that should rub down the walls with 120grt sand paper between coats to maintain a smooth finish to the walls
Next stage
Its time for colour
if you see any imperfections once colour added steps above repeated to flatten
its just a rough guide so if you get any problems please reach out a question is but an answer away
