So, when I first got this car I was like “project, project, project “didn’t think about it too much and shoved it all in not really being attentive to details the little things so to speak which intern just leads to headaches while enjoying the sound system. Believe me when I say headaches I mean it, this was an extreme lesson in not rushing an making sure you plan things out even down to where you’re going to put the fixings an don't forget lock tight for the love of bass.as you know sound will shake it lose( 33hrtz) so upon removal the first thing I noticed was a speaker cable with a burn and the protective insulation had melted away this was the first on a little things missed list so on we go what else can we find when I rush way to much now at this point my fault finding brain is fully activated an on a hunt as this is a mystery an I do find them fun so on we go next item found was a melted fuse holder I am assuming that the fact that the cover had broken and had managed to disappear in the boot so to summarize melted cable an amp in protect mode no bass just Mids and High’s and a lot of buzzing which just started one day hence the rip out so on we go removed all speaker cables an unnecessary wiring in prep for the new install.
Onward I go pulling an tugging removing every bit of cable installed every bit of cable from previous owners install also this was a deep dive found stuff i did not even know was there another lesson don't assume that your head unit has never been taken out before a lot more so with a classic car the amount of insulating tape was amassing had a little giggle then relised how long it will take to clean all this up giggling stopped anywho further digging ground connections pre - existing lets just say " hmm mm " well enough of the bad stuff on to the clean up crew tided up cables behind head unit removing all and repairing factory cables added a larger ground cable to supply head unit additional grounding
I will be back with an update.
